The Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular was started by John Reckner in Massachusetts in 1988. The Reckner family and friends continue to produce the show and the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, Rhode Island has been home to the show for several years.
Travis Reckner was a teenager when his family started putting on the Jack O’Lantern event and he brought the event to his new home when he moved to Louisville in 2012.
The ¼-mile illuminated Jack O’Lantern walking trail is open daily from dusk to 11 p.m. during the week (Sunday-Thursday) and midnight on Friday & Saturday.
