On the way home from Horrorhound Weekend we decided to make a short stop at The Waverly Hills Sanatorium. It is a old TB Hospital. Over 65,000 people died there. So many they built a body shoot to send out the corpses. Now one of America’s most haunted places. Soon as we arrived all these loud alarms went off up the hill. Guessing motion detectors to warn them of visitors. They are closed on Sundays. And open only by appointment. SO we could not go up to it. But was fun to make a stop and have some lunch outside the gate. Ate two chicken sandwiches from Popeyes. Not sure if that qualifies as Voodoo. But dead chickens were involved nonetheless. A very cool security guy came down to the gate to see what we were doing. He was nice and talked to us briefly. I wanted to get a photo with him, because he has a kick ass job. But just as we went to take the photos all of the batteries in our cell phones were suddenly dead. (I wasn’t even sure this video saved until I got home.) The guard laughed at us and said that happens all the time there. I gave him a Misty Brew comic Book and poster for being so cool to talk with us for a couple of minutes. We politely went to the car and left. I do plan to book a return visit later this year. I’ll take extra batteries with me.
