The big bopper of romance can be found at Glema Mahr Center for the Arts in Madisonville on February 14th. The sounds of rock‘n’roll presented by local favorite nostalgic revue band the Van Dells, bring back the happy days of the ’50s and ’60s. Think “Puppy Love” meeting a “Teenager in Love”. Grab your “Dream Angel” and enjoy an “Unchained Melody”. Tickets are $15 – $20.00
Louisville
From Chantilly Lace to the Louisville Chorus your dance beat might make a change, but the atmosphere of hearts and flowers still flourishes.
If Music Be the Food of Love is the theme for the 14th annual Valentine’s Day love fest offered by the renowned chorale group. Celebrating its 7th decade of providing the joys of music, the Valentine’s Day event is a guaranteed hit with a gourmet food, a dinner show, silent auction (just in case you forgot to buy your sweetie a gift) and finishes with captivating tunes to lure you onto the dance floor.

Although the Shakers practiced celibacy, amour can still be found in the air as the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill with love themed luncheons and dinners of mammoth proportions offered on Thursday. If a mid February vacation filled with mellowness is desired make plans to reserve a spot at the Friend’s Winter Weekend from the 15th – 17th. Aside from historic accommodations, fantastic food and stunning attractions a reading from Vickie Cimprich, author of Pretty Mother’s Home; A Shakeress Daybook, will be a highlight on Friday night.
